For as long as I can remember, visiting the tulip gardens in Holland was on my To-Do list. When I was a little girl, I related Holland with tulips, windmills, and little dolls dressed in blue with wooden shoes.

On my most recent trip to the Netherlands, I visited Keukenhof Gardens, and it was as beautiful as I thought it would be. The gardens gave a sense of peace and tranquility while walking through them. I believe that any place that creates a natural space of beauty with flowers and greenery, allows life force to enter its space.

Keukenhof is located not too far outside of Amsterdam, and you can book a ticket online with bus transportation. That is what I did, and it was an easy journey. As of 2019, the bus to the gardens did not leave from the Central Train Station. You can take the train from Central station to the bus stop quite easily. For bus stop information – Keukenhof Gardens
The gardens were both enchanting and fun, with so many tulips and Spring blooms to wander through.

Keukenhof was one of the largest and most beautiful gardens that I have visited in Europe. You can easily spend half a day here as there are plenty of places to stroll through.

There were lovely landscaped gardens, fountains, ponds, and plenty of ducks. All the blooms were beautiful, and there was a feeling of serenity in the gardens.

The restaurants inside the gardens were very good, and accommodating to everyone. They served international dishes such as Asian noodles, as well as croquets, sandwiches, and salads.

I ordered the chicken Caesar salad that was layered inside of a jar. It was very tasty and filling, it was a large jar! The croquet was very good, and served with a side of thick fries.
Also, if you see a stand with ice cream that is a definite must. The strawberry ice cream tasted very fresh, and was nicely hand packed onto my waffle cone.
