New York City is not short of noodle houses, and some of the best ramens that I have eaten were in Manhattan. It goes the same with cocktails in this city, there are an abundance of places serving fine drinks ,and some of the best I have had were in Manhattan.

On my last visit to New York, my daughter had chosen for us to dine at NR located in a quiet Upper Eastside neighborhood. Since it was a cold winter evening, both of their specialties of ramen and cocktails were sure to warm up two West Coast girls. NR was a superb choice that Madeline had made. The have perfected both drink and food; offering fun creative cocktails and well balanced bowls of ramen.
At NR, we specialize in ramen – noodles of Chinese origin, and cocktails – first brought to Japanese ports by western countries. We’ve since honed and perfected both in an effort to bring a taste of the past into the future.

We arrived when NR opened and took advantage of their Happy Hour Specials, including their raw oysters. My daughter and I both enjoyed their whimsical cocktails, bowls of Kyoto ramen, and the matcha salt for the Kaarrage. I really enjoyed that matcha salt!
