Venturing off the Las Vegas Strip for visitors is something that does not happen often. If it does it means that you have been to Sin City a couple of times, or know locals in the area. Let me tell you a something, there is a whole other world outside of The Strip which includes muti-generational neighborhoods, inspirational dining at all price points, and fun cocktail lounges; including a couple of cool tiki bars. One of them being The Golden Tiki, which is located in China Town just minutes from The Strip.

The Golden Tiki is kitschy and it is fun. It is a fusion of Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, and a retro island themed lounge while playing tropical exotica sounds.

This tiki bar also entails a bit of vintage erotica with retro postcards of naugty nudes on the tables, and penis paraphrenia in the ladies room.

I have been coming to The Golden Tiki for quite some time, have brought out of towners and they all loved the place. This is also a special lounge for us locals to get together, have a swanky cocktail, and have a fun-tiki time!

For those who collect tiki mugs, The Golden Tiki also sells them, and they change out regularly. Many of the unique tiki mugs in my collection have come from here. The mugs for sale are behind the check-in counter by the front door. If you see a mug that you like, let your server or the bartender know, and they will serve your drink in it.

All tiki mugs are an additional cost, with the price of your drink.

Lit up like a tiki torch, there are several drinks that you can purchase that are set on fire or you can add a shot of fire to any drink, for an additional cost. A few of our favorite lit drinks are the ‘Lime in the Coconut’ and ‘Trial by Fire’.

Just remember to blow it out after several seconds and before your insert you straw!

In addition to serving tiki-licious tropical drinks, The Golden Tiki also serves beer, specialty drinks, and tasty bar food. One of their house favorites is the Dole Whip that can be served with pineapple juice, rum or vodka.

Any time of the year is great to visit The Golden Tiki, but the holiday season is a festival for cocktail lovers. That is when their holiday inspired tiki drinks come to town and their Yuletide decorations go up.
